Installing the Roof Flashing
The roof flashing will seal the area between the center collar and the roof panels.
What You Should Know
There are three roof flashing sections that overlap and bolt together.
1. Install the first roof flashing section (1) onto the roof panel (2) and align the holes in the roof
flashing (1) with the holes in the roof panel (2) as shown in
2. Adjust the center collar (3) to align with the holes in the roof flashing (1).
3. Install 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (5) and 3/8" flange nuts (6), securing the first roof flashing section (1) to
the roof panel ribs.
NOTE:
Leave the bolts (5) out of the holes at the ends of the roof flashing (1) for the overlap.
There will be sixteen bolts (5) installed into the roof ribs and six bolts (5) installed into the
center collar.
4. Place a strip of rope caulk (10) along the edge of the installed roof flashing (1) where the next roof
flashing (1) will overlap.
5. Align the holes along the edge of the next roof flashing (1) with the holes of the previously installed
roof flashing (1) and fasten together using 5/16" x 1" flange bolts (5) and 3/8" flange nuts (6).
6. Repeat
to install the second and third roof flashing (1) sections.
NOTE:
Remember to place caulk (10) between the overlap of the roof flashing (1) sections.
7. Field drill holes into the center collar (3) through the Z-collar support clips (9) and fasten together
using the 3/8" x 1" flange bolts (7) and 3/8" flange nuts (8).
8. Tighten all hardware to the recommended torque specifications. See bolt torque specifications
