Installing the Tension Rods
What You Should Know
Tension rods connect to the rafter brackets through the rafter and are installed around the inside of the bin.
Before You Begin
Make sure all the rafters are installed before preceding the installation of the tension rods.
1. Install the tension rods (1) between the two rafter brackets (3) with 3/4" washers (4) and 3/4" nuts (5)
as shown in Figure 4L.
NOTE: Make sure that both ends of the tension rod (1) installed to the first hole from the eave side
of the rafters.
2. Install the next tension rod (2) between the two rafter bracket (3) on the second hole from the eave
with 3/4" washers (4) and 3/4" nuts (5) as shown in Figure 4L.
NOTE: Adjust the tension rods (1 and 2) to slight tension (do not over tighten), before removing the
center support jack.
3. Tighten the hardware to the recommended torque specifications. See bolt torque specifications
on Page 13.
