7.9.2 Measurements
7.9.3 Calculation
The effective quantities of the desired parameters can be
calculated from the measured readings as follows:
1. Select "free" in display.
2. Confirm with the
key.
3. Fill a clean vial (
∅
24) with 10 ml of the
water sample, close tightly with the cap.
4. Place the vial correctly in the sample
chamber. See fig.
5. Press the [Zero] key.
6. Remove the vial from the sample
chamber and empty it.
7. Add one
DPD No. 1
tablet
(No
) straight from the foil and
crush the tablet using a clean stirring
rod.
8. Fill a second clean vial with 10 ml of the
water.
9. Add one
Glycine
tablet (No
)
straight from the foil and crush the tablet
using a clean stirring rod.
10. Close the vial tightly with the cap and
swirl gently several times until the tablet
is dissolved.
11. Transfer the contents of the second vial
into the prepared vial.
12. Close the vial tightly with the cap and
swirl gently several times until the tablets
are dissolved.
13. Place the vial in the sample chamber
correctly. See fig.
14. Press the [Test] key.
Write down the result as: reading G
15. Press the [Test] key again to use the
current ZERO value for the next
measurement.
16. Remove the vial from the sample
chamber, empty the vial, rinse vial and
cap several times. Fill with a few drops of
the water sample.
17. Add one
DPD No. 1
tablet
(No
) straight from the foil and
crush the tablet using a clean stirring
rod.
18. Add water sample to the 10 ml mark.
19. Close the vial tightly with the cap and
swirl gently several times until the tablet
is dissolved.

the same water sample and crush the
tablet using a clean stirring rod.
32. Close the vial tightly with the cap and
swirl gently several times until the tablet
is dissolved.
33. Wait for a reaction period of 2 minutes.
34. Add one
DPD Neutralising
tablet
(No
) straight from the foil to
the same water sample and crush the
tablet using a clean stirring rod.
35. Close the vial tightly with the cap and
swirl gently several times until the tablet
is dissolved.
36. Place the vial in the sample chamber
correctly. See fig.

37. Press the [Test] key.
