High refractory temperature.
Let the load burn down further
before refueling or mix in less
seasoned wood with your fuel
charge.
Green or wet wood.
Use seasoned wood.
Unseasoned wood has a high
volume of water in the wood which
will decrease the efficiency and
may prevent the furnace from
reaching temperatures required
for a clean burn.
Air intakes blocked.
Call your dealer for inspection.
Induction fan blocked or weak.
Inspect and confirm fan is turning.
If your fan no longer turns up to a
high speed when the "Smoke
Guard" button is engaged, call
your dealer.
Smoke is Coming Out the
Firebox Door
Door opened without engaging
"Smoke Guard."
Press the "Smoke Guard" button
before opening the firebox door.
The “SmokeGuard” feature
reduces if not completely eliminate
smoke out the front door of the
furnace.
Door opened during high burn.
Do not open the door if there is a
Red light under the Smoke Guard
button is lit. The Green Light
indicates that The Smoke Guard
button may be pushed and the
door can be safely opened. A red
light indicates that the system is
operating in high combustion state
and the door should not be
opened.
(See the "Control Panel"
section in this manual for more
information.)
Door gasket not fully sealing when
door is closed.
Fully engage the handle in the
down position when door is
closed. Visually inspect to confirm
the door rope gasket is
compressed all the way around
the door when door is closed. If it
is not, contact your dealer/installer
to replace the door gasket.
Cracks in the Firebox
Refractory
Chips, small fractures and spalling
in the refractory are a sign of
normal wear and tear on the
furnace. They do not affect the
safety or performance of the unit.
Some cracks can progress across
the full length of the refractory.
These are not structural and will
not affect furnace performance or
life.
If a crack continues to widen, call
your local installer or Greenwood
Clean Energy dealer for an
inspection.
