WIRING
If local code requires a dedicated circuit for the furnace, your installer may install a 20-amp circuit with a
circuit protector device located in a convenient place near the furnace. The following three systems require
power:
Frontier Series CX: The power cord requires plugging into a grounded 115 volt, 60-cycle wall socket. To
properly protect the control board the unit should be powered through a surge protector.
(See diagram FW1)
Frontier CX Hydronic Conditioning Manifold: The Taco 007 circulator requires connection to a grounded
115, 60-cycle power source. The pump should not be powered until the system is filled with fluid.
(See
diagram FW1)
ThermSafe
TM
Overheat Cooling System: The transformer that powers the system requires plugging into a 115
volt, 60-cycle wall socket.
(See diagram FW1 and FW4)
WARNING:
All electrical wiring related to your Frontier Series must conform to the
National Electrical Code and all local building codes and ordinances. Turn off electric
power at circuit protector device before making any line voltage connections. DO NOT
plug the furnace in until it is fully installed.
Boiler Controls and Wiring Configuration
The Frontier Series utilizes control logic to regulate heat output, monitor water flow, and manage air flow
through the furnace. The water temperature set-point is factory pre-set at 185°F (85°C). Your dealer may
choose a different set point temperature to best meet your heating system requirements.
