Rotary Mulcher RM 232
Driving instructions for the Rotary Mulcher
Inspection of the machine before start-up, follow the instructions in the
section
”Before initial start-up”
General setup for working position and driving
•
Put on safety goggles and safety work gloves.
•
Remove any transport safety devices and set the arm system to working position.
•
Start the tool at the lowest rotation speed.
•
Warm up the hydraulic oil by letting the rotary mulcher run from 5 minutes in summer
(min. +10
°
C) and up to 30 minutes in winter (at -5
°
C).
•
Adjust the rotary mulcher to "vertical" or "horizontal" for hedge cutting and raise to
working position.
•
Adjust the rotational speed to the recommended (rev./min.)and drive at a cautious
speed, adjusted to the terrain as well as potential obstacles.
Warming up the oil before hard work will put less strain on the hydraulic
parts. Thereby the life expectancy of motor and pump is increased significantly.
Starting up the Rotary Mulcher
•
Choose a low rotation speed (rev./min.)
•
Make sure that the area around the tool has been secured.
•
Warm start
– Start up the Rotary Mulcher.
•
Cold start
– never start on max. rotation speed. Let the tool run without any excessive
load for 5-15 min. in order to reach the right operational temperature.
•
Increase rotation speed until the rotary mulcher has reached its ideal rotation speed
(that is when the hydraulics supply 50 l./min. + a few more rev./min., so there is a
sufficient amount of oil available if the arm needs to me moved hydraulically).
If you continue to increase the rotation speed (rev./min.) on the
tractor/multi carrier, the fuel consumption is increased and the oil temperature rises without
the mulcher running faster.
Drive with the Rotary Mulcher
•
Choose a suitable driving speed depending on the nature of the hedge, the driving
surface, traffic and visibility conditions.
•
If there is a big branch coming against the Rotary Mulcher (max. 4 cm i diameter, for
this tool that is BIG branch), reduce the speed to a minimum and "plane off" the
branch.
•
If unwanted parts come into contact with the blades, stop the rotary mulcher, stop the
vehicle, remove the ignition key, pull the handbreak, use safety goggles and safety
work gloves and then remove the jammed material.
