Rotary Mulcher RM 232
The counterweight of the vehicle
It is imperative that stability between the tool and the vehicle is achieved when mounting
extra equipment unto the vehicle.
This is achieved by using counterweights that compensate the weight of the mounted tool.
The rotary mulcher has been tested on the following arm systems: Twiga MID, PRO & Flex
with tractors from 3200 kg, a 280 cm wheelbase and a 250 cm gauge measured from/ to
the outer edge of the tire.
As there are different types of tractor constructions and differences in weight distribution,
the above should be seen as a "guideline". If possible, choose as wide tires as possible to
increase the stability of the vehicle.
Front weights / Side stabilizing elements
The following suggestions are only recommended guidelines, not
instructions, on how to strengthen the vehicle's stability. It is recommended that you
contact your tractor/vehicle manufacturer or local retailer for specific advice on increased
stability. Also, consult a tire specialist for advice and guidance on tire pressure, or other
questions you might have about the vehicle you want to carry the rotary mulcher with.
Depending on the weight and stability of the vehicle carrying the tool, front, side or rear
weights may be necessary in order to maintain a stable rear axle pressure on the opposite
wheels of where the arm is mounted. All factors must be considered in order to match the
machine and tool type to the areas where they are to be used - when driving a mulcher, it
must also be taken into consideration that the machine's central center of gravity will move
constantly during work, while it will not change during transport.
Factors that influence stability
•
The center of gravity of the tractor, vehicle and machine combination.
•
The geometrical conditions, such as the position of the tool and ballast.
•
Weight, track width and the vehicle's wheel base.
•
Acceleration, braking, turning and the tool's relative position during these maneuvers.
•
The character of the terrain, is it a hilly area, what is the foundation type and its
conditions
•
The flexibility of the mounted tool
•
Be aware that articulated mini loaders displace the weight balance the sharper they
turn
