Site selection:
The site selection is important to avoid damage to buildings through under flushing or percolation.
Distances between buildings and percolation system
The pit should be applied close to the connections. The distance of the percolation system to buildings should be 1.5 x
height basement / foundation,
the pit depth depends on their planned rainwater connection height
. Pay attention to
sufficient distance to trees especially their roots (treetop diameter = distance from the percolation).
Excavation dimensions
The dimensions of the pit depend on the number and location of percolation system according to DWA A138.
Walk surfaces are guaranteed with 50 cm soil cover over the percolation system.
In case of larger projects excavations have to be carried out according DIN 4124 - excavations and trenches.
For decent work the angle of approach is crucial. The angle of approach depends on the overall depth, the soil type
and required from an excavation depth of 1,25 m.
We recommend a working space of 1,00 m around the percolation system to be used.
Greening above the percolation system
In case you plan to lawn on your percolation system, so they should interpret to percolation of foil or a layer of clay
that can dry out your lawn otherwise faster.
