Resistance Measurement
1. Shut off and lock out the power. Make sure all capacitors are fully
discharged. Voltage must not be present.
2. Plug the black test lead in to the COM terminal. Plug the red test lead into
the V
Ω
terminal.
3. Set the selector switch to
Ω
.
4. Connect the test lead tips together. Make a note of the test lead resistance.
5. Connect the test leads to the component or circuit. Read the display.
Subtract the test lead resistance found in Step 4 to find the actual
resistance of the component or circuit.
Do not connect the meter to a source of voltage or current when the
selector switch is in the
Ω
position. Damage to the meter can result.
