OIL CHECK AND OIL CHANGE
ATTENTION:
The engine oil is best changed when the engine is at working temperature. Beware of
oil, as being hot can cause burns.
To change the oil:
1. Place the machine on a flat, horizontal, unobstructed surface.
2. Unscrew the oil filler cap
3. Unscrew the oil drain screw and drain the hot engine oil into a suitable container through the drain channel.
Tilt the generator to drain the oil completely.
4. After all the oil has drained, tighten the oil drain screw and clean the drain channel with a cloth.
5. Add new engine oil with the oil fill funnel until the top fill mark on the oil dipstick is reached. Insert the
dipstick without screwing in the oil plug.
6. Remove and check the mark that the oil has left on the dipstick. The signal left by the oil must be between
the minimum and maximum marks.
7. If the mark is below the minimum, add a little more oil and check again.
8. If the mark is above the maximum you will have to remove oil from the crankcase. To do this, tilt the machine
sideways, place a container at the end of the tube to prevent oil from spilling down the machine or onto
the floor.
CLEANING THE AIR FILTER
If you notice damage or alterations in the filter, replace it with a new one.
The air filter of this machine is made of foam, it can be cleaned as follows:
1. Remove the protective cover from the filter.
2. Remove the filter.
3. Clean the filter with soapy water.
4. Rinse the filter with plenty of clean water.
5. Let the filter dry.
6. Once dry, moisten it with a few drops of oil (the foam element should be moist but not dripping).
7. Install the filter on the machine.
8. Install the cover and tighten the screws.
ATTENTION:
The engine should never run without the air filter installed.
CLEANING THE MUFFLER SCREEN AND SPARK ARRESTER
The engine and muffler will be very hot after the engine has started. Avoid touching the engine and muffler while still
hot with any part of your body or clothing during inspection or repair.
To clean the screen and spark arrestor from the muffler:
1. Loosen bolt (1) and then remove muffler cover (2), muffler grille (3) and spark arrestor (4).
2. Clean the carbon deposits on the muffler grid and spark arrestor with a wire brush.
3. Check the muffler grille and spark arrestor.
4. Replace if damaged.
5. Install the spark arrestor and muffler grille into the muffler tube.
6. Install the muffler cap and tighten the screws.
