The extra ” of Metal Damond Mesh that extends around the 

permeter of the Face Frame should be folded under and back 

so that only about one nch remans. Secure the Face Frame 

to the wall by drvng the provded # washer head screws, 

placed every ” apart, as shown n

Install the Ball Latch onto the Door Frame. Ths Ball Latch 

wll hold the top of the optonal Glass Door and/or Freplace 

Screen in place. Bring the Door Frame up into the firebox 

openng and set t on top of the Combuston Ar Tube. Make 

a hole n the mesh at the top large enough to allow for the 

Ball Latch. Algn the holes n the base of the Door Frame 

wth the two plot holes n the Combuston Ar Tube, and 

loosely attach wth the provded screws. Place a ½” wood 

strp between the Door Frame and the lp on the top nsde 

edge of the Combuston Ar Tube as shown n

. It wll act as a spacer for the Glass Door or 

Fireplace Screen that must fit into this space. Tighten the 

Door Frame screws. After the bottom of the Door Frame s n 

the proper poston, Vertcally algn the Door Frame and push 

the provided butterfly bolt through the Face Frame mesh and 

tghten.

A standard 3 coat plaster process should be used to finish your 

Kva Freplace.

Scratch Coat

Brown coat

Fnsh coat. 

Frst plaster the nteror of the kva openng arch wth a 

mortar mx of  part Portland cement, ½ part lme,  parts 

Vermiculite, ½ cup (by volume) of shredded fiberglass. Limit 

water to only an amount to make mxture workable. Apply to 

the lath inside the arch opening between firebox and frame. As 

shown n

through the unsealed lath on to the floor below.

Cover the entre Face Frame wth ether plaster or stucco. 

Stucco s a mosture resstant Portland Cement based product 

and must be used f your Kva Freplace s nstalled outsde. 

Your choce of ether plaster or stucco may be purchased from 

your local suppler or hardware store. 

You may also purchase factory blended fiber reinforced and 

sanded stucco mx drect from Grand Rver Supply and have t
