SoundPals User's Guide
Note the following important points regarding the schematic:
•
The left and right faders provide unity gain at Reference HI
and zero gain at Reference LO.
•
The pan controls move their associated input across the stereo
sound stage with constant energy. The source is positioned
fully left at Reference LO and fully right at Reference HI.
Remote Control Operation
With the remote control unit (customer supplied) connected to the
DFADE-2, use the following steps to operate in remote mode:
For stereo operation:
1.
Set
Mode Switch 4
Down
to enable remote control. The
REMOTE
LED on the front panel lights.
2.
Set
Mode Switch 1
Down
for stereo mode.
3.
Set
Mode Switches 2
and
3
as desired for your application (
Up
for local level control,
Down
for Unity).
4.
Adjust the remote controller’s
Left Fader
to adjust
L
and
R
GAIN
simultaneously — from silent to full level. The
Right
Fader
is disabled.
5.
Adjust the remote controller’s
Left Pan/Balance Control
to
adjust the balance between both channels — from fully left to
fully right.
6.
Adjust the remote controller’s
Right Pan/Separation Control
to adjust separation between channels. Please note:
•
The separation control mixes some of the left input
into the right output, and vice versa.
•
With separation fully on, there is no mixing of the left
and right signals.
•
With separation exactly in the middle of its range, left
and right inputs are mixed equally to left and right
outputs (a mono mix at both outputs).
•
With separation fully off, there is no mixing of the left
and right signals, but outputs are reversed (right
input to left output and left input to right output).
This results in a left-right channel swap.
