2. Setup Items Introduction
SYSTEM SETUP
• TV SYSTEM
For most UK televisions th is is PAL however
please check with the instruction manual supplied
with the TV for confirmation.
– NTSC
: Choose this settings if the micro
system is connected to a NTSC TV.
– PAL : Choose this settings if the micro
system is connected to a PAL TV.
– PAL-M : Choose this settings if the micro
system is connected to a PAL M TV.
– AUTO : Choose this settings if the micro
system is connected to a multi-system TV.

• SCREEN SAVER
If the screen saver is on, when the micro system
is stopped, the disc tray is
open, there i s no disc
inserted or there is a frame frozen for more than 3
minutes, the screen saver will be displayed. This
feature can protect the screen from damage.
– ON : Choose this setting to activate the screen
saver.
– OFF : Choose this setting to cancel the screen
saver.

– INTERLACE-YUV : Choose this setting if the
micro system is connected to a TV via the Y, Cb,
Cr video inputs.
– TV-RGB : Choose this setting if the micro system
is connected to a TV via the SCART input.
– P-SCAN : Choose this setting if the micro system
is connected to a progressive scan TV via the Y,
Pb, Pr video input.

Notes :
– If the micro system is connected to the TV via
the composite video output, then INTERLACE-
YUV must be selected.
– If the micro system is connected to the TV using
a component cable (Y,Pb/Cb, Pr/Cr), then
P-SCAN YPBPR must be selected.
(P-scan is the short form of progressive scan.)
Note: When connecting via composite or
component cables the switch on the rear panel
must be in the component position.
– If the micro system is connected to the TV using
the SCART cable, TV-RGB must be selected.
Note: When connected using the SCART socket
the switch on the rear panel must be in the
SCART position.
