Night view mode
Used when recording portrait with night scenes. Set the flash mode to fill-in flash when taking portraits, and
ask your subjects not to move after the flash burst; the shutter will still be open for the background exposure.
Under low light conditions, the shutter speed will become slow. Since this may result in the image
becoming blurred, use of a tripod is also recommended.
Note:
If you take a photograph with a dark background or at a dark place, the shutter speed slows down, and the
slow shutter speed warning is displayed. (When the shutter is pressed halfway down, the ready LED blinks
green and the slow shutter speed mark [
] is displayed in the LCD monitor.) To prevent distorted image,
we recommend using a tripod to keep the camera stable.
16-Multi photography
This mode takes 16 shots continuously at 0.13 second intervals (7.5 frames/second). The 16 photographed
images are saved as one image (FULL size: 2048 x 1536 pixels).
This mode is effective for continuously photographing moving subjects.
Notes:
*Though zoom playback is not possible, playback of multi image pictures is possible.
*Digital zoom photography is not possible.
*Photographs cannot be taken at HALF size or SMALL size. When HALF size or SMALL size is set before you
select multi photography, the setting is automatically changed to FULL size. When multi photography is
canceled, the setting returns to HALF size or SMALL size.
Landscape mode
Optimized to produce sharp, colorful landscapes. Used when recording scenery. The flash will not fire in this
mode when set to auto flash mode.
Sport mode
Used when taking photographs of fast moving subjects. This mode automatically adjusts the camera to a higher
shutter speed to "freeze" the subject in action. This makes the subject appears sharp and the background blurred,
giving the picture a feeling of speed.
