4.4.2 For models with differentials (DF)
To allow the machine to be moved with the engine off, the axle is released by
pulling lever n.7 fig.1 and lever n.1 fig.6, to release the differential in its back
position.
4.5 DIFFERENTIAL LOCK (DF)
(For models with differentials)
The differential is locked by pushing lever 1 fig.6 forward even when the
machine is moving- To release the differential, pull the lever back.
The differential lock is particularly handy on wet ground when one of the two
wheels slips. With the differential locked, traction is much better.
Do not use the differential going into or in bends. If the differential does
not release, help it by steering the machine slightly to the right and left.
4.6 HANDLEBARS
The steering handlebars are horizontally and vertically adjustable.
Vertical adjustment gives 9 working positions and is done by pulling lever 8 fig.1
Horizontal adjustment gives 5 working positions and is done with lever 4 fig.1
CAUTION
When the handlebars are turned 180°, the action must be clockwise.
Before turning, detach rods n.2-3 fig.1 from the connecting sleeves on the
gearbox. Reposition the rods when the handles have been turned.
CAUTION
On models with reverser, before turning the handlebars from the
reversed driving direction (mowing) to the normal driving direction (rotary
cultivating), the reverser lever must be moved back to the "rotary cultivating"
position (lever n.1 fig.4, turned to the left). If you do not, you run the risk of
breaking the plastic sleeve between the steering column and the casing cover.
When the handlebars are rotated from mowing to normal position
(cultivating direction), check to make sure that the pin to prevent PTO
engage in reverse is working properly-ie, it prevents reverse being
engaged when the PTO is engaged and vice-versa.
