4.3 PTO
The PTO is independent from the machine's driving speed.
To engage the PTO, lower the revs, pull in the clutch (6 fig.1) and use lever 2
fig.1:
- Lever forward
= PTO engaged
- Lever back
= Neutral
PTO Rpm: 790 Rpm with engine at 3600 Rpm; turning direction clockwise;
profile 20x17 DIN 5482.
CAUTION
The rotary cultivator has a safety
device
that prevents the
PTO from being engaged when the reverse gear in engaged in normal
driving direction (rotary cultivation).
Therefore, before engaging reverse, disengage the PTO.
During reversed driving direction (mowing), this safety is automatically
disengaged so that reverse can be used.
If implements that produce a great deal of inertia (e.g. lawn mowers,
brush-wood choppers, etc.) are connected to the PTO, it is advisable
to use a cardan shaft transmission with “free wheel” device. As it
prevents drive from being transmitted from the implement to the machine, this
device allows these latter to immediately stop as soon as the clutch is
depressed.
4.4 WHEEL RELEASE
4.4.1 For models without differentials
To allow the machine to be moved when the engine if off, the wheels must be
released with one or two levers on the handlebars
Release with a single lever
Use lever n.7 fig.1, to release the wheels on the axle from the transmission.
Release with 2 levers
Use levers n.9-10 fig.2 to release the two wheels separately. To transfer the
machine with the engine off and without holding the levers in position, insert pins
11 in the bottom hole.
When driving the machine, pins n.11 fig.2 must be in the two top holes.
When the handlebars are turned around, the wheel release controls are
reversed. To make easier for the operator, switch the wires for the two levers by
removing their pins n.1 fig.5.
