understand all safety precautions before proceeding to install, operate or service this equipment. The operator’s setting
of the machine and proper use of the wand solely determines the severity and success of the treatment. Always try the
operation of the unit on a sample patch of your own skin first. This not only helps you to determine the capabilities
but also gives you a clearer understanding of what the patient feels. Let their responses guide you in providing a safe,
satisfying application.
Occupational Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens
During a treatment, the abrasive powder becomes contaminated with particles of skin, tissue, oil and possibly body
fluids. On December 6, 1991, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) promulgated the Occupational
Exposure to Bloodborne Pathogens Standard 29 CFR 1910.1030. Contact OSHA, local and state authorities to determine
if the collected waste powder is considered biological substance that may have particular requirements for disposal.
Breathing & Eye Protection, Clothing & Other Apparel
During a treatment, it is mandatory for the operator to wear rubber gloves, facemask and eye protection. Read the Material
Safety Data Sheet in the back of the manual to understand the nature and proper use of the abrasive media. Due to the
machine’s quietness, hearing protection is not required.
