Cleaning
This section explains the procedure for cleaning the Filter Pan and renewing the Filter Media. This should be done
each time the Boil-Out procedure (Section 6-01) is performed.
1. Filter Pan should have been removed prior to
draining boil-out solution.
2. Remove & clean Crumb Catcher , using a
biodegradable, non-toxic cleaner.
3. Use the supplied metal Crumb Scoop to remove as
much of the accumulated filter sediment as possible
from the filter media surface, particularly around the
edges. This helps prevent debris from getting
underneath the new filter media, or falling through
the perforated support screen and potentially causing
the filter pump to clog.
4. Clean the Filter Pan Cover , using a
biodegradable, non-toxic cleaner and dry it
thoroughly.
5. Turn the four Levers to disengage the Hold-
down Frame . Remove, clean and dry Frame
thoroughly.
6. Remove the Filter Media , either Filter Paper or
reuseable Mesh Screen (SSFS) .
Filter Paper: Carefully roll up soiled filter sheet and
discard; avoid allowing filter debris to fall through the
perforated support screen
in the Filter Pan
bottom.
SSFS Screen: Remove the screen; avoid allowing
filter debris to fall through the permanent,
perforated support screen
in the Filter Pan
bottom. Using only hot water and a soft bristle
brush, clean screen in sink. Shake out water and dry
with clean dry towel. DO NOT use soaps or cleaners
when washing the SSFS Screen! See Section 5-07,
Using Optional Renewable Filter Media (SSFS) .
