To use the SMS service with this device, an
SMS center has to be configured
(
Prerequisites:
u
Calling Line Identification is enabled for
your phone line.
u
Your network provider supports SMS on
the fixed line network (information on
this can be obtained from your network
provider).
u
You are registered with your service pro-
vider to send and receive SMS.
u
To receive SMS messages, you must be
registered with your service provider. This
occurs automatically when you send your
first SMS.

An SMS may contain up to 612 char-
acters. If there are more than 160
characters, the SMS is sent as a
linked
SMS (up to 4 SMS messages with 153
characters each). The top right of the
display shows how many characters
are still available and which part of a
linked SMS is currently being written.
Please note
u
If you are interrupted by an external
call while writing an SMS, the text is
automatically saved in the draft SMS
list.
u
If the memory is full, or if the SMS
function on the base is being used by
another handset, the operation is can-
celled. An appropriate message
appears in the display. Delete SMS
messages you no longer require or
send the SMS later.
