Installing the device

Using an external modem

In this case the LAN1 port is used as WAN port. The integrated ADSL modem is then
deactivated.

Connect the

LAN1

port on the router with an external modem. To do this, use the

cable supplied with your modem or any Ethernet straight cable having an RJ45 con-
nector on both sides.

Then connect this modem to the relevant communications port (e.g. splitter).

To put the LAN port into operation for a WAN connection you have to change the

Con-

nection type

of the Internet connection to

Ethernet

(see page 23).
