Analog Voice LIM
The Xedge Analog Voice (AVM) LIM supports from four to
12 voice channels in a variety of voice protocols by means of
interface cards on the LIM base card. Three common
configurations and associated front panel connectors are
shown at right:
•
Up to three FXS and/or FXO interface cards in 4-port
increments, in any combination.
•
One 2/4 W E&M interface card with 8 ports.
•
One 2/4 W E&M interface card with 8 ports, and one FXS
or FXO interface card for an additional 4 ports.
Front Panel Features
Each port provides a front panel LED that indicates LIM
communication status. There are two additional LEDs that
indicate Run and Alarm states in effect for the LIM.
Hardware Setup
Jumpers
Jumpers on the AVM basecard are factory use only. The E&M
interface plug-in has eight banks of jumpers used to match the
phone signaling type of the attached equipment.
shows the jumper positions for each signaling type per port.
Installation
The Analog Voice LIM occupies a rear panel slot of the switch
that is associated with the corresponding controller. When
handling LIMs, always use an antistatic wrist strap to prevent
static discharge damage to the electronic circuits.
1. Install the LIM into an empty slot at the back panel of the
chassis.
2. Insert the edges of the module into the tracks of the slot
and slide the module inward until it stops. (LIMs are
“hot-swappable”.)
3. Connect the appropriate I/O line(s) to the LIM’s front
panel input connectors using the proper cables.
4. Refer to the Xedge Configuration Guide to properly
configure the LIM for your application.
