Optical position indicator
Diaphragm globe valve
open
Diaphragm globe valve
closed
Idle stroke - Valve only opens when
resistance is felt.
Only for bonnet size 1 - 3: When opening
the valve with the handwheel from a closed
position, the user feels an "idle" (non-
operating) action of the handwheel due
to a pre-tension spring and a tolerance
compensation. The valve only truly opens
when resistance is felt on the handwheel.
This occurs after approx. 1/4 - 1 turn
(approx. 1 – 2 mm stroke) of the handwheel
from the lower stop. Only when resistance is
felt does the valve seat operate and open.
When the valve is open and the handwheel
is turned to the closed position, the reverse
order applies.
CAUTION
Rising handwheel!
