Installation
General installation requirements
The instructions given in these chapters should be heeded to ensure reliable operation. The
conditions in the Certificate of Conformity must be adhered to.
Installation should only be carried out by qualified engineers who can demonstrate they have
received the necessary training.
Installing the terminal
If required, the relevant module for the CHALLENGER 15-FH and CHALLENGER 15/18-FHP can
be pre-installed and cabled up in the factory. The only cabling then required would be the
data cable and mains leads. For details of the exact mounting arrangement please refer to
the drawings in the appendix .
All housing nuts and fixing brackets must be tightened evenly.
If you have ordered the panel mounted module, make sure that the rubber seals fit properly
all the way round and observe the following cabling requirements. For panel dimensions,
please refer to the drawings in the appendix.
Make sure that the required level of ingress protection is maintained. Check all seals carefully
during installation.
The maximum ambient temperature stated in our design specifications should not be
exceeded.
Installing the 15-PSU or 18-PSU
For the power supply connection please refer to the chapter „Design of the 15-PSU/18-PSU”
and the drawings in the appendix.
The cable between the 15-PSU or 18-PSU and the CHALLENGER FMO must be no more than
10 m length when the cable cross-section is 1mm² .
