Press the
key followed by a series of
key presses (at
half-second intervals) to receive the
Login:
prompt
. This indicates that
the radio is ready to receive commands. (If a “
>
” or “
>>
” symbol is
seen, the radio is set to command line mode. Enter
Menu
to leave
command line.)
4. At the
Login:
prompt, enter
admin
(lower case) and press
.
NOTE:
Passwords are case sensitive and may use up to 13 alpha-numeric charac-
ters. Do not use punctuation mark characters.
5. If no password has been previously set, enter the default password
(
admin
) and press
; Otherwise, enter the saved password at
the
Password:
prompt. (Before placing the unit in final service, it is
recommended that the default password be changed using the Secu-
rity Configuration Menu.)
6. After successful login, the Starting Information Screen appears
(Figure 21), showing summary information about the radio. This
screen is read-only, but some of the fields change based on user-sup-
plied data at other menu screens.
NOTE:
TX and RX frequencies may not be set when the radio is shipped from the
factory, depending on ordering options. If frequencies have not been set,
Major Alarms Present
will be displayed on the Starting Information
Screen and the
PWR
led will flash. These will be cleared after the frequen-
cies are set. In
all
cases, users should verify that the frequencies are prop-
erly set according to the station license.
