d. Adjust the micrometer to a 15 mil (0. 38 mm) indication, then back to a 20 mil (0. 51 mm)
indication and record the output voltage. Going to the 15 mil (0. 38 mm) indication first will
eliminate any play in the micrometer before taking the 20 mil reading.
e. Increase the gap in 20 mil increments by adjusting the micrometer.
Record the voltage
indication at each increment.
f.
Either plot each voltage indication obtained in step e or compare each to the desired calibration
curve in Appendix C.
g. If the transducer is out of tolerance (refer to the
specifications),
recalibrate.
