System pumps
Introduction
This section describes the pumps of ÄKTA ready XL.
Description
ÄKTA ready XL is equipped with two identical pumps with disposable pump cham-
bers (heads).

P-201.A allows for isocratic operation.
•
P-201.B allows for gradient operation used together with P-201.A.
The wetted part of a pump is the pump chamber. Pump chambers are not included in
the delivery, but provided in separate flow kits.
Each pump is a four piston diaphragm pump, equipped with tension rollers and a
drive belt motor. Refer the manufacturer's product documentation for further de-
tails.
The pump motors are connected to the system and fitted to the pump wagon under
the system at delivery. The pump wagon can be pulled out from under the system to
facilitate fitting the pump chamber or performing maintenance.
Locking pins on each side of the pump wagon frame keep the pump wagon in position
even if the system is moved. All wheels on the pump wagon are equipped with wheel
locks.
