DE-SCALING THE KETTLE
WARNING:
De-scaling solution, when heated, will evaporate vapour hazardous to
your health. When heating de-scaling solutions,
DO NOT breath in the vapour. Always
ensure good ventilation.
Keep the appliance away from any delicate objects.
CAUTION: When using a commercial de-scaler, ensure that the selected product is
suited for plastic kettles.
Otherwise plastic parts and seals of the kettle could get dama-
ged, causing leakage.
For de-scaling you may use white vinegar, citric acid or any de-scaler specified for pla-
stic kettles.
• Using vinegar: Fill the kettle with 1/2 litre of vinegar and leave to stand for 1 hour
without heating.
• Using citric acid: Bring 1/2 litre of water to the boil. Then add 25 g of citric acid.
Leave to stand for 15 minutes with the appliance turned OFF.
• Using a de-scaler: Follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
• Empty the kettle and rinse it 5 or 6 times. Repeat the procedure, if there is still any
scale left.
