4. Close the lid by pressing the lid down until it settles in place and will not open auto-
matically again.
IMPORTANT:
Do not operate the kettle with the lid open. Otherwise, the temperature
control and automatic shut-off will not work properly. Additionally, there will be high
energy loss.
5. Ensure that the exterior of the kettle is dry. Then place the kettle onto the base and
connect the appliance to the power supply. A beep sounds and the display is illu-
minated. The water temperature is only displayed above 40°C (104°F), otherwise
“LO” is shown (see: ‘Knowing Your New Water Kettle’ and ‘Properties of Your New
Water Kettle’). The appliance is now ready for operation.
WARNING – Risk of Scalds:
The exterior of the kettle will get hot during operation.
Only touch the kettle at the operating elements and handle. Even with the lid closed pro-
perly, hot steam could escape from under the lid during operation and some minutes
thereafter. Do not hold your face, hands, or other parts of your body, or any delicate
objects over or directly beside the kettle, if the kettle is still hot.
IMPORTANT:
The illumination of the kettle and the appropriate button will go out, as
soon as a heating cycle is complete. This way you can see, which function is currently
running. You may cancel any heating cycle at any time by removing the kettle from its
base, or by pressing the illuminated button (ON/OFF, Purify, or temperature selection).
Even with 2 functions running simultaneously, you may switch an active function OFF
separately by pressing the assigned button.
IMPORTANT:
The Water Kettle Colour Vision Pro is no measuring appliance. There may
be differences between the temperature displayed on the display and the actual tempe-
rature of the water. In general: the higher the filling level in the kettle, the more precise
the temperature will be.
BOILING FUNCTION—BRINGING WATER TO THE BOIL
Simply press the ON/OFF button to start the boiling cycle. The ON/OFF button and
the interior of the kettle are illuminated and the kettle starts heating. As soon as the water
reaches at least 40°C, the current water temperature is indicated on the display. While
getting hot, the light inside the kettle changes colour continuously according to the water
temperature: from green (below 40°C), cyan, blue, violet, purple, to red (above 85°C).
As soon as the water boils, a beep sounds and the kettle is switched off automatically.
Note:
You may interrupt the heating cycle at any time by pressing the ON/OFF button again
as long as it is illuminated, or by removing the kettle from its base.
