3.14.2 ROW MARKER FOR A FOLDING FRAME
For this model of planter two different types of row marker are
available:
- Hydraulically folding row marker with trace on the tractor wheel;
- Row marker with trace in the centre of the tractor and hydraulic
folding inside the planter's overall dimensions.
The row marker is a machine that traces a reference line parallel
to the tracks of the tractor on the ground.
Once the tractor has completed its run and it has turned around,
follow the reference row with one of the
front wheels (ill. no. 42)
or with the centre of the tractor (ill. no. 43) according to the row
marker employed. . Each time it passes, the seeder will mark a
reference line on the side opposite to the previous passage. The
exchange of the row marker arms is actuated by a hydraulic
system with valve supplied with the equipment. The double-acting
hydraulic cylinders allow the row marker to be folded.
The row marker device has a valve that actuates the two arms
alternately, so reducing use to a single tractor hydraulic distributor.
The hydraulic delivery pipe has a tap (1, Fig. 44) that is necessary
for excluding the operation of the row marker.
During road
transport of the planter, the tap lever must be put in position A
(Fig. 44), to prevent accidental opening of the row marker
; this
lever is in position B while working.
When the system is not in use protect the quick couplings with
the hoods provided and house the hydraulic pipes in the support
provided for the purpose.
