3.4 BEFORE STARTING WORK
Before starting the seeding operation grease all parts indicated
by transfer nr. 10 (‘GRASE’) at page 18 of this leaflet.
IMPORTANT
Before starting, lift the supporting base elements.
Before parking the seeder, lower the supporting feet by
carrying out the operation in the reverse order.
3.4.1 POWER TAKE-OFF RPM
The blower is operated by the tractor power takeoff, which operates
a pump and a motor with an independent oil-pressure system
through an overgear. It is necessary to check that the number of
revolutions indicated on the seed drill is respected. If the minimum
rpm is not attained, inaccuracy of the machine in the distribution
can occur, as well as clogging of the grain tubes.
Maintain a constant pressure in the system during seeding,
otherwise uneven seeding may occur.
The following table (A) illustrates the corresponding pressure values
and number of revolutions of the blower.
Pressure control:
Seed drills are delivered with pressure based on the machine
width, as according to table (B).
If you wish to increase the number of revolutions of the fan for
distributing heavier seeds, carefully proceed as follows (fig. 23):
a)
loosen the handwheel (1);
b)
rotate the handwheel (2) clockwise or anticlockwise to
reduce or increase pressure and adjust the number of revolutions
of the blower accordingly.
WARNING
It is strictly forbidden to touch act on the dowel (3) for
any reason, as this would unset the system and could lead
to the motor or pump breaking.
WARNING
When starting up operation, with the oil cold, operate the
power take-off at minimum for several minutes, bringing
the entire system to a constant pressure level to avoid
blower instability. Driving a vehicle with a 540 rpm
propulsion, with a power take-off of 1000 rpm and an
engine rpm correspondingly low is not permitted. Danger
of blower pump breakage. During distribution do not let
the power take-off rpm drop too low.
Seating the overgear
Clean and grease the tractor power take-off (1 fig. 24)
Seat the overgear (2 fig. 24) in the tractor power take-off as shown
in figure 24. Check that it is coupled correctly and block the overgear
rotation using the chains supplied (3 fig. 24)

3.5 OPERATION START
In the presence of dampness, make the fan idle for a few minutes
to dry the pipes.
IMPORTANT
For a successful seeding work it is useful to seed on a
small stretch and check that the seeds are regularly
distributed in the ground.
3.6 DURING WORK
Bear in mind that a variation in tractor speed does not lead to a
corresponding variation in seed sown per hectare.
Always respect the following rules for successful sowing:
- Keep the hydraulic lifting device in the lowest position.
- During the seeding operation, always maintain the number of
rotations for the requested power take-off.
- Check at times that the operating parts are not covered with
vegetable residual matter or clogged by earth
- Check that the distributor is clean, and prevent any external
matter (no seed) accidentally fallen into the hopper from
hampering the smooth seeding operation.
- Check in any case that the grain tubes are not clogged
- Maintain a seeding speed compatible with type and cultivation
of the soil.
- Periodically check the results of seeding.
