Suction line
• The diameter of the suction line, regardless of whether hose or pipe, should be at
least 1 inch. In case of a suction height in excess of 5m, we recommend 1 1/4 inch.
• Install the suction valve (foot-actuated valve) with the suction basket on the suction
line. If this is not possible, a check valve must be installed in the suction line.
• The suction line must be installed at an incline from the water removal point to
the pump. Avoid installing the suction line above the height of the pump under all
circumstances. Air bubbles in the suction line delay and/or prevent the suction
process.
• Suction and pressure lines must be installed in such a way that they do not exert any
mechanical pressure on the pump.
• The suction valve should be sufficiently submerged in water in order to prevent the
pump from running dry once the water level drops.
• An untight suction line prevents sucking in water by sucking in air instead.
• Prevent sucking in foreign objects (sand, etc.). If necessary, install a pre-filter (suction
basket).
Pressure line connection
Attention! The pressure line must be installed in such a way that it does not exert any
mechanical force or tension on the pump.
• All screw connections should be sealed with thread sealing tape in order to prevent
water leaks.
• All parts of the pressure line must be installed pressure-proof and properly.
Attention! Parts that are not pressureproof and improper installation may cause
the pressure line to burst in operation! Liquids that shoot out at high pressure may
injure you severely!
Cleaning the suction filter
Prior to cleaning or servicing the device, turn it off and separate it from the
mains. Risk of electric shock!
1. Unscrew and remove the filter glass (11)
2. Pull the filter unit (filter and filter basket) straight up to remove it.
3. Hold the filter basket and twist the filter out counter-clockwise.
4. Clean the filter with a soft brush.
5. Clean the filter basket under running water.
6. Refit the filter in reverse order.
