The Detachable Transfer Seat assists carers when
transporting bathers between rooms.
The following instructions detail the optimum transfer
procedure and should be adhered to at all times.
Please note
– failure to comply may compromise patient
safety. All carers must be fully trained in the use of the
Detachable Transfer Seat before attempting to transfer a
patient.
Key Information
Detachable Transfer Seat (Fig 1)
Max Safe working Load
– 140kg (22 stone)
Seat Height
– 500mm
The Lap Strap
must be used
at all times during the transfer
procedure.

the chair.
Client Transfer from Seat/Trolley to bath
1)
Wheel the client to the bath on the transfer seat and
trolley. Ensure that the transfer arm is
fully lowered
using the ‘Seat Out’ button. The trolley should be
placed in the
starting position
illustrated in figure 1.
2)
Push the transfer seat back until the
upper latch
engages with the transfer arm (Figures 2 and 3).
3)
Apply pressure to ensure the transfer seat is as far
back as possible (Fig 3). Simultaneously raise the
transfer arm using the ‘Seat in’ button on the handset.
As the transfer arm lifts, the carriage hooks will
automatically engage in the frame of the transfer seat
(Fig 4).
Safety
– it is essential that the transfer arm carriage
hooks engage fully in the transfer seat frame. Failure to
do so may compromise patient safety.
