Trouble shooting
Malfunctions often have simple explanations. Please
read the following notes before calling the after-sales
service.

Risk of electric shock!
Incorrect repairs are dangerous. Repairs may only be
carried out by one of our trained after-sales engineers.
If the appliance is faulty, unplug the mains plug or
switch off the fuse in the fuse box. Contact the after-
sales service.

Appliance does not heat up. Flash-
ing of left luminous disc, right lumi-
nous disc is on.
Drain valve is open.
Close the drain valve after draining the cooking
liquid. The appliance does not heat up if the drain
valve is open. If it is blocked by residues open the
drain valve again. Then remove the residues with a
suitable tool (e.g. handle of a wooden spoon).
Appliance does not heat up. Fast
flashing of right luminous disc, left
luminous disc is off.
Overheating protection: no liquid in
the cooking basin.
Liquid in the cooking basin below
minimum marker.
Switch off the appliance. Fill the cooking basin
with cold water up to the max-marker and leave to
cool down fully.
Overheating protection: the
steamer was operated for a pro-
longed period of time on the steam
setting without the glass cover.
Switch off the appliance and leave to cool down
fully. Place the glass cover on the appliance when
steaming.
Overheating protection: the cook-
ing basin was filled with hot water.
Switch off the appliance and leave to cool down
fully. Fill the cooking basin with cold water.
Overheating protection: build up of
limescale in the cooking basin. The
contours of the heating element
are visible on the base of the cook-
ing basin.
Switch off the appliance and leave to cool down
fully. Descale the cooking basin with vinegar solu-
tion or another descaler which is food safe. Care-
fully rinse with cold water.
Safety shut-off: the setting has
remained unchanged for over
4 hours (8 hours if temperature set-
ting is below 70°C).
Turn the right control knob to 0. Then you can
operate it again normally.
Power cut: after a power cut, the
appliance does not switch back on
automatically for safety reasons.
Turn the right control knob to 0. Then you can
operate it again normally.
Appliance does not heat up. Fast
flashing of both luminous discs.
Faulty installation
Check that connecting cable between the appli-
ance and the control panel is plugged in firmly.
The edges of the appliance rise
slightly during use.
The metal cooktop expands when
hot.
This is normal. It will dissappear when the appli-
ance has cooled down.
