VLAN pruning: A VLAN is automatically pruned from an uplink port in case it is
not assigned to any of its pinned downlink ports.
VLAN deletion: A VLAN is automatically deleted in case it is not configured on
any downlink port.
These tasks listed above are triggered by the following events:
VLAN configuration change on downlink
Link status change on uplink port
AVS activation
3.1.2.17.10.
Pin States
Downlink ports have following possible states:
Pin State
Meaning
Pinned
Downlink port is successfully pinned to an uplink port.
Not pinned
VLAN configuration mismtch: Uplink port does not host all VLANs
configured on the downlink port.
Idle
With link state „down“: Pinning process waits for downlink port
„up“ status.
With link state „up“: Pinning process is waiting for the re-pinning timer
to expire.
Pinning
Pinning in progress
Disable
Pinning is administratively disabled with port command „no
pinning“ (used for internal metwork).
Do not wire uplink port and downlink in a same Pin Group because it may
cause network loop.
When LAG interface is set as uplink and/or downlink in a Pin Group, it is
recommended that each LAG member port is also set as uplink and/or
downlink in the Pin Group.

IGMP Snooping
Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) Snooping is a feature that allows a
switch to forward multicast traffic intelligently on the switch. Multicast IP traffic is
traffic that is destined to a host group. Host groups are identified by class D IP
