GVRP (GARP VLAN Registration Protocol)
GVRP is a protocol that defines that a GARP Application provides the VLAN
registration service. GVRP-enabled switches exchange VLAN configuration
information, which allows GVRP to provide dynamic VLAN configuration. This is
achieved by using GARP to propagate VLAN ID attributes. This feature only support
on physical port interface and LAG.
3.1.2.7.12.
GMRP (GARP Multicast Registration Protocol)
GMRP is a protocol that defines that a GARP Application provides the group
membership registration service. Like IGMP snooping, GMRP helps control the
flooding of multicast packets. GMRP-enabled switches dynamically register and
de-register group membership information with the MAC networking devices
attached to the same segment. GMRP also allows group membership information
to propagate across all networking devices. This is achieved by using GARP to
propagate attributes. This feature only support on physical port interface and LAG.
3.1.2.7.13.
MRP (Multicast Registration Protocol)
MRP replaces the Generic Attribute Registration Protocol (GARP) functionality. MRP
is a protocol that provides a generic framework to register and de-register attribute
value. MRP allows devices to register membership in VLANs (by using MVRP) or
MAC address (by using MMRP). This feature only support on physical port interface
and LAG.
3.1.2.7.14.
MVRP (Multiple VLAN Registration Protocol)
MVRP replaces the GARP VLAN Registration Protocol (GVRP) functionality. MVRP is a
protocol that defines that a MRP Application provides the VLAN registration service.
MVRP-enabled switches exchange VLAN configuration information, which allows
MVRP to provide dynamic VLAN configuration. This is achieved by using MRP to
propagate VLAN ID attributes. This feature only support on physical port interface
and LAG.
3.1.2.7.15.
MMRP (Multiple MAC Registration Protocol)
MMRP replaces the GARP Multicast Registration Protocol (GMRP) functionality.
