Replacing the hot-plug power supply unit

V

CAUTION!

Before replacing a non-defective power supply unit in a non-redundant 
configuration (only one power supply unit present), the server must have 
been switched off.

Ê

Remove the cable of the defective power supply unit.

Ê

Remove the defective power supply unit (see section 

“Installing/removing 

the hot-plug power supply unit” on page 71

).

Ê

Install the new power supply unit in the empty mounting location (see section 

“Installing/removing the hot-plug power supply unit” on page 71

).

I

Make sure that the power supply unit engages correctly in the 
mounting location and is locked in position.

This is the only way to avoid the power supply unit being shaken out 
of its mountings and damaged during transportation.

Ê

Connect the newly installed power supply unit.
