Unpacking the Switch Module
Perform the following steps to remove the
Brocade 6545 16 Gbps FC Switch Module
from its
shipping package.
1. Open the shipping box and inspect the contents for damage.
Do not insert a damaged Switch Module in the Blade Server chassis. If the Switch Module
appears to be damaged, contact your sales representative before proceeding.
2. Remove the foam layer that sits on top of the switch.
3. Remove the Switch Module from the protective foam surround.
4. Remove the foam ends from the Switch Module.
5. After ensuring that standard electrostatic device (ESD) precautions are made, slide the switch
out of the antistatic sleeve.

BX400 Blade Server for additional instructions.
