Prima di iniziare
Controllare sempre la compatibilità tra Il supporto
del guidacatena e la zona di alloggiamento del
vostro telaio. Il guidacatena KCU è compatibile con
attacchi direct-mount a due viti, tubo piantone
circolare da 34.9mmm.
Ingrassare accuratamente ed applicare correttamente
le coppie di serraggio delle viti di fissaggio.
Le coppie di serraggio vengono riportate sulla
staffa del guidacatena.
ISTRUZIONI DI MONTAGGIO DELLA VERSIONE A
COLLARINO
1. Aprire la falsa maglia della catena per separare
le due estremità.
2. Svitare con chiave Torx 25 le due viti del brac-
cialetto ed ingrassare il filetto “A”
3. Fissare il braccialetto al telaio, accostando le
viti di fissaggio.“A”
4. Infilare una estremità della catena all'interno
della gabbia e chiudere la catena con la falsa
maglia.
5. Posizionare la catena nel pignone più piccolo e
ruotare il guidacatena fino a che la piastra esterna
sia parallela alla catena.
6. Nel caso in cui la catena venga a contatto con
la piastra esterna, spessorare con rondelle tra il
collarino e la piastra interna svitando le due M4 a
testa conica.”B”
7. In caso di corone ovali, posizionare il guida-
catena in modo che la catena non venga a contatto
con i distanziali interni nelle due posizioni
estreme dell'ovale.
8. Cambiare pignoni fino a quello di diametro maggio-
re e verificare che la catena non tocchi contro la
piastra interna. Eventualmente correggere la
rotazione del braccialetto
9. Serrare le viti del braccialetto M5 a 3Nm. “A”
VERSIONE DIRECT-MOUNT S3
1. Aprire la falsa maglia della catena per separare
le due estremità.
2. Svitare con chiave Torx 25 le due viti del sup-
porto S3 ed ingrassare il filetto. “A”
3. Avvitare il supporto S3 al telaio, accostando le
viti di fissaggio. “A”
4. Infilare una estremità della catena all'interno
della gabbia e chiudere la catena con la falsa
maglia.
5. Posizionare la catena nel pignone più piccolo e
verificare che la piastra esterna sia parallela alla
catena.
6. Nel caso in cui la catena venga a contatto con la
piastra esterna, spessorare con rondelle tra il sup-
porto S3 e la piastra interna svitando le due viti
coniche.
7. In caso di corone ovali, posizionare il guidacat-
ena in modo che la catena non venga a contatto con
i distanziali interni nelle due posizioni estreme
dell'ovale.
8. Cambiare pignoni fino a quello di diametro maggio-
re e verificare che la catena non tocchi contro la
piastra interna.
9. Serrare le viti M5 del supporto S3 a 3Nm. “A”
Before to start
Always check the compatibility between the chain-
guide and the frame.
The FRM KCU Carbon Chainguide is compatible with:
High direct mount
Low direct mount (S3)
High collar for 34,9mm saddle tube
Low collar for 34,9mm saddle tube
Grease carefully and apply properly the right
torque using a calibrated torque wrench.
ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS IN THE COLLAR VERSION
(HIGH COLLAR AND LOW COLLAR)
1. Open the chain link and remove the chain
2. Unscrew wiht a 25 torx wrench the two bolts of
the collar and grease the threads.“A”
3. Set the collar on the frame, gently tightening
the two bolts.“A”
4. Insert the chain through the Carbon cage of the
chainguide and close it with the chain link.
5. Position the chain in the smallest sprocket and
rotate the chainguide until the external plate is
parallel to the chain.
6. If the chain touches the external plate of the
chainring, add the given spacer between the collar
and the inner plate. This will allow the chainguide
to fit to the chainline.“B ”
7. If you are using an FRM NC Power chainring, you
need to be sure that the chain does not get in con-
tact with the inner spacer when in the most extreme
oval point.
8. Change the rear sprocket up to the biggest cog
and verify that the chain does not hit the inner
plate. If this is the case then, gently rotate the
chainguide to find the best position.
9. Tighten the collar bolts at 3Nm. “A”
LOW DIRECT MOUNT VERSION (S3)
1. Open the chain link and remove the chain.
2. Unscrew wiht a 25 torx wrench the two bolts of
the aluminium support and grease the threads.“A”
3. Gently tighten the S3 aluminium support to the
frame.
4. Insert the chain through the Carbon cage of the
chainguide and close it with the chain link.
5. Position the chain in the smallest sprocket and
verify that the external carbon plate of the chain-
guide is parallel to the chain.
6. If the chain touches the external plate of the
chainring, add the given spacer between the alumin-
ium support and the inner plate. This will allow
the chainguide to fit to the chainline.”B”
