3.13 Defroster heater
The profi-air defroster heater is an air preheating device which can be integrated into
the profi-air flex ventilation unit and which is intended to protect the heat exchanger
from freezing condensate. The defroster heater can be switched on and off via the
frost protection strategy stored in the ventilation unit. Please refer to Section 6 of
these installation and operating instructions for more information. The heater coil is
connected directly to the J4 clamp on the control board of the ventilation unit. This
ensures that the defroster heater will only operate if there is a risk of freezing in the
cross-flow heat exchanger. The defroster heater is available in two performance
classes of 1.4 kW for profi-air 250 flex and 1.85 kW for profi-air 360 flex.
Use the profi-air cockpit pro software or the wireless remote control to commission the defroster heater.
Electrical connections must be established by authorised and qualified personnel and in the “dead” state
of the ventilation unit only. In addition, applicable local regulations and safety provisions must be com-
plied with.
