LASER
2
y
Never look into a laser beam. This could result
in damage to eye sight.
In the event that
a laser beam enters your eye, immedia-
tely close your eye and move your head
out of the line of the laser beam.
It is not
possible to use standard eye protection aids
such as for example sun glasses with UV filters
for protection against the laser. Never view the
beam with optical devices and equipment.
y
Never point the laser beam and UV light source
at people, animals or at yourself.
y
Do not use the device in an environment with
an explosion or fire hazard, where there are fla-
mmable materials, flammable gases or dust.
y
Do not disassemble the device and do not
modify it in any way.
y
Do not point the laser beam and UV light at
reflective surfaces. The beam could be deflec-
ted and hit the eyes of people.
y
Do not place the device near data storage
devices, pacemakers and devices sensitive
to magnetic fields. A magnetic field could
result in the loss of data, endanger the
life of a user with a pacemaker or damage
sensitive devices.
y
Place the device on a stable surface in a safe
location.
y
The device is sensitive equipment, so protect
it against impacts and rough handling. Protect
the laser beam output window, UV light output
window and the infrared radiation sensor
against breakage and soiling.
VIII. Cleaning and
storing the appliance
y
For cleaning the LCD display, the laser and
UV light outputs, and laser lenses, only a fine
cloth or cleaning tissues intended for cleaning
glasses or optical equipment may be used.
y
Do not clean the plastic surface of the device
using organic solvents. The plastic surface could
be damaged.
y
Store the device in a dry place, out of the reach
of children at a temperature in the range from
-10 °C to 45 °C. Prior to storage, take out the
batteries. Store the device in a protective case.
IX. Meanings of
markings on the label
Read the user's manual before use.
Meets respective EU requirements.
LASER
2
Laser radiation. Do not look into
the ray. Class 2 laser equipment.
Electrical waste symbol
(see below).
SN
Serial number, indicates the year,
month, serial production number.
Table 2
V. Measuring temperature
y
When measuring temperature, use the aiming
laser taking into consideration the size of the
measured object and the distance of the device
from the measured object so that the optical
resolution of 12:1 is maintained, which is impor-
tant for the accuracy of the measured tempera-
ture (see paragraph
„The relationship between
the distance of the device, the diameter of the
measured area and measurement accuracy“
).
1) Turn on the device and aim it at the measured
area at a distance from the measured object
corresponding to the optical resolution of the
device. During temperature measurement, the
temperature measurement symbol (indicator)
will be shown on the display, fig. 2, position 7.
2) Press and then hold down the trigger, then the
measured temperature will be shown in the
central part of the display. The max. measured
temperature recorded during the measure-
ment process will be shown in the bottom part
of the display.
Note:
y
The
„H“
symbol in the top part of the display (fig. 2,
position 8) indicates that the measured value is
being shown on the display (
„hold data“
).
CONTINUOUS TEMPERATURE
MEASUREMENT
y
For continuous temperature measurement,
hold down the trigger of the gun, where the
current measured temperature will be shown
in the central part of the display and the max.
temperature measured during the measuring
process will be shown in the bottom part of
the display.
MEASURING TEMPERATURE USING
A TEMPERATURE PROBE
(CONTACT MEASUREMENT)
1) Insert the connector of the temperature probe
into the socket of the device (fig. 1, position 9)
according to po/-.
2) Press and hold down the trigger of the gun,
which will result in
„Prb“
being shown in the
bottom left corner of the display and it will be
possible to perform measurements via a contact
method using temperature probe. The tempe-
rature measured by the temperature probe will
be shown in the bottom right hand corner of
the display on the row with the text
„Prb“
.
y
The current temperature will be registered with
temperature probe only when the trigger is pressed.
•
ATTENTION
y
Due to mutual interference and the measure-
ment inaccuracies resulting from this, we do
not recommend simultaneously performing
non-contact measurement using IR and contact
measurement using the supplied K-probe.
VI. Using the UV light
y
The device is equipped with a UV light source
for the detection of compounds and substances
visible under UV light. Project the UV light at
the location being inspected and in the event
that compounds visible under UV light are pre-
sent, the illuminated location will be visible.
VII. Safety instructions
for work with the laser
and UV light
y
Prevent small children and bigger children
without supervision, mentally unfit persons and
uninstructed persons from using the device.
Ensure that children do not play with the device.
y
Do not remove the technical rating label from
the device.
