WARNING
y
To prevent UV light from entering eyes, do not
aim the device at people or animals as this
could result in eye damage.
SETTING A LOW TEMPERATURE
NOTIFICATION „LAL“
y
It is possible to set the lower temperature limit
for the purpose of checking whether a mea-
sured temperature is above a set temperature
limit or below it, which is accompanied by an
LED light signal (fig. 1, position 1). The low
temperature notification can be set across
the entire measuring range of the device. In
the event that the measured temperature is
above the set limit, the indicator light will be lit
green. In the opposite case, the indicator light
will be lit red.
PROCEDURE
1. Turn on the device, and while holding down
the trigger, press the
„MODE“
button.
„HAL“
will be shown in the bottom left corner of the
display.
2. Release the trigger and again press the
„MODE“
button, then
„LAL“
will be shown in
the bottom left corner.
3. To set a higher temperature value, press the
„
Λ
“
button (fig. 1, position 5) and the
„V“
button to set a lower temperature (fig. 1,
position 3).
4. Press the trigger to end the setting mode, and
the set value will be saved for measurement.
HIGH TEMPERATURE NOTIFICATION
SETTING „HAL“
y
It is possible to set the upper temperature limit
for the purpose of checking whether a measured
temperature is above a set temperature limit or
below it, which is accompanied by an LED light
signal (fig. 1, position 1). The high temperature
notification can be set across the entire measu-
ring range of the device. In the event that the
measured temperature is above the set limit,
the indicator light will be lit red. In the opposite
case, the indicator light will be lit green.
PROCEDURE
1. Turn on the device, and while holding down the
trigger, press the
„MODE“
button.
„HAL“
will be
shown in the bottom left corner of the display.
2. To set a higher temperature value, press the
„
Λ
“
button (fig. 1, position 5) and the
„V“
button to
set a lower temperature (fig. 1, position 3).
3. Press the trigger to end the setting mode, and
the set value will be saved for measurement.
Examples of setting temperature notifications:
1)
„LAL“
: 35 °C; the measured temperature is
31 °C; the indicator light will be lit red because
the measured temperature is already below
the low temperature notification limit.
2)
„HAL“
: 34 °C; the measured temperature is
31 °C; the indicator light will be green because
the measured temperature is still below the
high temperature notification limit.
3)
„HAL“
: 25 °C;
„LAL“
: 20 °C; the measured
temperature is 24 °C; the indicator light will be
lit green because the measured temperature
is below the high temperature notification
limit and has not reached the low temperature
notification limit.

the device for use
INSERTING / REPLACING THE BATTERY
1. The device is supplied without the battery
inserted. Prior to using the device, insert
a 9 V battery type 6F22 or other equivalent
designation of the same type of battery into the
battery compartment of the device and connect it
to the connector according to the marked polarity.
2. Then close the battery compartment using
the cover.
•
ATTENTION
y
A flat battery may result in inaccurate measu-
rement. Monitor the battery power level on the
display, see battery symbol, fig. 2, position 6.
y
Prior to storing the device for an extended
period of time, remove the battery.
TURNING ON THE APPLIANCE
y
Turn on the device by pressing the trigger or
pressing the „MODE“ button. After approxi-
mately 15 seconds of inactivity, the device will
turn off automatically.
SETTING EMISSIVITY
y
Emissivity expresses the ability of a material to
emit infrared radiation. A majority of organic
materials and laminated or oxidised surfaces
have an emissivity value of approximately 0.95.
If you wish to increase measurement accuracy,
set the emissivity value for the measured mate-
rial according to table 3 provided below. During
measurement, we recommend recording the set
emissivity value for the given material to enable
measurement results to be compared relative to
the set emissivity for the given material.
1. When the device is turned on, symbol
„E“
will
be shown in the bottom left corner.
2. Press the
„MODE“
button and the
„E“
symbol
will change to
E
, and then it is possible to
use buttons
„
Λ
“
and
„V“
(fig. 1, positions
3 and 5) to set the emissivity value in the
range from 0.1 to 1.0 for the measured materi-
al according to table 3.
3. Press the
„MODE“
button again to leave the
emissivity setting mode, whereby the emissi-
vity value for measurement will be set.
SETTING TEMPERATURE UNITS
y
After turning on the device, hold down the
„MODE“
button to toggle between the °C and °F
measuring units on the right side of the display.
TURNING THE AIMING LASER ON/OFF
y
After turning on the device, press the „V“
button (fig. 1, position 3) and a laser symbol
will appear in the top left corner (fig. 2, posi-
tion 9). To turn off the aiming laser, press the
same button again and the laser symbol will
disappear.
