WARNING
Grip the steerage handles firmly during work to pre-
vent the machine from slipping from your hands and
check constantly to make sure that there are no by-
standers or animals in the area surrounding the ma-
chine.
4.3 WORKING WITH THE MACHINE
- Move the throttle to about halfway along its travel.
- Make sure that the wheel disengaging lever (fig. 1
ref. 11) has not been pulled.
- Fully depress the lever that allows the gearbox to
operate (fig. 1 ref. 8) and keep it resting against
the knob of the steerage handles.
- Move the lever to the neutral position (machine at
a standstill) (fig. 1 ref. 8) to stop it from moving, or
in an emergency.
4.4 DURING OPERATION
- When you cross slippery or sinking grounds, drive
slowly.
WARNING
- It is forbidden to drive over soft ground where the
machine could tip over. It this occurs,
immediately release the red lever (fig. 1 ref. 8)
and the machine will stop automatically.
- The obstacles must be passed at reduced speed
and any driving reaction must be controlled.
WARNING
- Do not start the machine abruptly.
- Do not transport persons or animals in the machine.
4.4.1 USE OF THE MACHINE ON STEEP SLOPES
- Proceed very slowly over steep slopes;
- Do not exceed upward/downward slopes of more
than 30% (value beyond which no engine manu-
facturer guarantees that an engine will function
correctly). Use on gradients of up to 50% is per-
mitted for limited periods only, about 30 seconds,
and in an alternate way.
However, the manufacturer does not recommend
this type of use.
- It is forbidden to park the machine on sloping
ground. If it must be parked on slopes in cases of
extreme necessity and only for short periods of
time, make sure that the machine is extremely safe
by inserting wedges or stones between the wheels
and ground.
- To work on steep lateral slopes, equip the ma-
chine with twin wheels to make it more stable.
Remember that the maximum lateral slope on
which the machine can safely operate is about 20%,
on dry ground that is not slippery;
- Avoid making sharp turns on slopes. This action
can cause the machine to tip over.
- Take the greatest care when overcoming obstruc-
tions on sloping ground as movement of the center
of gravity from one side of the machine to the other
can make it jolt and impair its balance.
4.5 POWER TAKE-OFF
Operates independently from the gearbox, even with
the machine at a standstill.
With a 3600 rpm engine rate, the PTO spins at a speed
of 1100 rpm in the clockwise direction, viewed in front
of the shaft (fig. 4 ref. 1).
Engaging and disengaging
Proceed as described below to engage the PTO:
- Move the throttle to about 1/4 of its travel (fig. 1
ref. 14);
- Pull the PTO engaging lever (fig. 1 ref. 5) towards
the operator;
- Slowly lower the advancement lever (fig. 1 ref. 8);
- Use the throttle to bring the engine to the desired
rate, depending on the work required.
- To disengage the PTO, release the advancement
lever and push the PTO engaging lever forwards
(fig. 1 ref. 5).
You can move forward with the machine with the PTO
at a standstill, with the PTO engaging lever pushed
forwards or turn the PTO without moving forwards
with the PTO engaging lever pulled towards the op-
erator and the wheel disengaging level pulled (fig. 1
ref. 11) and locked with the relative button (fig. 1 ref.
12).
