4.4.1 USE OF THE MACHINES ON SLOPES
- When running on slopes, use only slow travel
speeds by driving at the minimum.
- Never cross more than 30% steep slopes; never
cross slopes with disengaged clutch or gearbox in
neutral, use the braking effect of the engine.
- Park on slopes only if there is no other option.
In this case, always make sure that the machine is
stopped in a correct and safe way.
- Do not move on long and steep side slopes; the
maximum side slopes it is safe to work on is
20%.
- Avoid rapid turns on slopes; they can make the
machine overturn.
- Pay a lot of attention when crossing obstacles on
slopes, because the barycentre moving from one
side to the other can cause jolts to the machine,
compromising its balance.
4.4.2 PARKING
WARNING
Do not park the machine near yielding grounds, near
slopes, ditches or steep grounds.
Never let the machine unattended when stopped.
4.5 DIFFERENTIAL LOCKING
(ONLY MACHINE EQUIPPED WITH DIFFERENTIAL)
We suggest to lock the differential when you are work
-
ing on slippery ground, when either wheel skids or
when you intend to move always in the same direction
(lateral slopes).
The differential locking is obtained moving the lever
(17 Fig. 1) forward in the «LOCKED» position, after
reducing the number of revolutions of the engine and
engaging the clutch .
To restart the machine, after locking the differential,
very slowly lower the clutch lever (7 Fig. 1) after
pressing the lock button (15 Fig. 1).
N.B. To avoid damage to the machine gearwheels,
it is recommended that you only actuate the dif-
ferential lock after releasing the clutch lever. This
regards both engagement and disengagement.
- Do not lock the differential before turning or when
the 3 gear is engaged. Before turning, always dis
-
connect the differential locking, putting the lever
(14 Fig. 1) back to the «UNLOCKED» position.
4.6 POWER TAKEOFF
It works independently from the gearbox with the
machine either moving or stopped.
With the engine at 3600 rpm / min, you get:
- Version mower 1100 rev / min and the counter
-
clockwise direction of rotation;
- Version cutter 900 rev / min and the sense of rota
-
tion.
The direction of rotation is reportedly looking at the
PTO shaft.
Engagement and disengagement
In order to engage the power takeoff, carry out the
following operations:
With the clutch lever free and the machine stopped,
take the engine to the minimum rpm by means of the
accelerator lever (9 Fig. 1).
- Pull or press the rod (12 Fig. 1) depending on the
position it is in.
- Slowly lower the clutch control lever (7 Fig. 1).
- Gradually accelerate to the desired speed.
With every machine restart, after engaging/actuat-
ing:
- the differential lock (if present);
- travel direction inverter (10 Fig. 1);
- the power take-off (PTO) (11 Fig. 1);
press the clutch control lever (7 Fig. 1) downwards
very slowly to facilitate the engagement of the
gears and/or grooved sleeves of the gearbox.
4.7 STOPPING OF THE ENGINE
You must anyhow shut the engine off on a flat ground
and not on yielding grounds, near slopes, ditches or
steep grounds.
In order to stop the engine, carry out the following
operations:
For gasoline engines:
- Position the accelerator lever to the minimum
- Disengage the clutch (7 Fig. 1).
- Always lock the machine in a safe way to avoid
accidental moving.
- Pull back, as well as the appropriate snap the throt
-
tle lever (9 Fig. 1).
For diesel engines:
- Lift the lever off the engine (Fig. 16, 1), position
B).
- Turn the key anticlockwise to position «0», for
gasoline engines with electric start. For diesel en
-
gines with electric start, as well as turn the key
to «0» position, lift the lever also spegnimeto (16
Fig 1) in position B) and remove the key from the
panel.
