Introduction
The Force10 Networks’S4810 platform has 640Gbps switching bandwidth. It supports forty-eight 10GbE
SFP+ ports, four 40GbE QSFP+ ports and two power supplies for redundancy. The S4810 includes an
RS-232 console port and a management port for system access. The S4810’s PSU (Power Supply Unit)
side (
Figure 1 ) contains the Power Supply Unit (PSU), and fan modules. As shown in Figure 2 , the
S4810’s I/O (Input/Output) side contains the 48 1G/10G SFP+ auto-sensing ports, four 40G QSPFP ports,
and management portsand stacking identification.

from the small vent holes above and below the ports.
