Strain Gauge Operation
Refer to Figures 3-39 and 3-40 for Strain Gauge operation. Figure 3-39
shows Az control. Figure 3-40 shows El control. Use the Strain Gauge
to rotate the SGA. As can be seen in Figures 3-39 and 3-40, SGA
movement follows the pressure point on the Strain Gauge. Light
pressure on the Strain Gauge causes the SGA to move slowly. Harder
pressure causes the SGA to move more quickly. Sensitivity of the Strain
Gauge can be manually adjusted using the SCAN control (Figure 3-1).
NOTE:
If the Strain Gauge is not controlling movement of the SGA,
press the POS Switch one time. This action will cause
control of the SGA to return to the Strain Gauge. Rate Mode
will be displayed on the left center of the display.
