Energy-saving tips
• Use the stored heat of the bottom of the pot by reducing the heat at an early stage and switching it off
before the end of the cooking time.
• Always cook with the lid placed on whenever possible.
• Choose a pot size which is appropriate for the amount to be cooked.
• The diameter of the burner should be equal to the diameter of the cookware base or be smaller.
Recommendation for the regulation of the burner
The specified setting ranges are average values. Select a lower setting for sensitive foods and smaller amounts
and a higher setting for larger amounts. Please also note the specifications in the instruction manual of your
stove.
Mass/glass ceramics (radiation/halogen):
the diameter of the burner should be equal to the diameter of the bot-
tom of the pot or be smaller.
Gas stove:
place the cookware in the centre and make sure flames do not lick
against the sides of the cookware.
Induction:
always place the cookware in the centre of the burner. The pot size
should be equal to the size of the cooking surface or be larger.
Selecting the right simmering setting for energy-saving cooking requires some experience. The contents of the
pot should simmer gently without boiling over. Steam should not rise up from the lid. The heat must be reduced
further when small or large amounts of steam rise up.
