FIREPLACE INSTALLATION

STEP 4: THROAT AND DAMPER ASSEMBLY

THROAT (FIGURE 6.1)

Begin building the throat by placing the square throat front 

and square throat back. These pieces are identical and can 

be used interchangeably. Remember to completely cover 

each component with mortar  1/2” - 1” thick where it will lie 

or butt up against another component. Mortar and place 

the throat pieces to secure it in place.
