A mantel may project from the wall a maximum of two ( 2” )
inches, at a minimum of thirteen and one-half ( 13 ½” ) inches,
above the fireplace opening, and a maximum of six ( 6” )
inches, at a minimum of fifteen ( 15” ) inches, above the
fireplace opening. ( SEE FIGURE 4 )
!!! WARNING !!!
If your installation does NOT meet the minimum clearances,
you MUST:
1-
Operate this appliance with the chimney flue damper
open; or
2-
Raise the mantel to the proper height; or
3-
Remove the mantel.
FLOOR CLEARANCES
If installing the appliance at floor level, the minimum clearance
to combustible material is six ( 6” ) inches. ( SEE FIGURE 5 )
