Previewing, editing, and merging jobs

The DocBuilder Pro option allows you to apply imposition layouts to jobs for special 
printing and binding needs. DocBuilder Pro also provides several enhancements to 
the previewing, editing, and merging features of Command WorkStation. 

For background information on imposition and its uses, see

Previewing, editing, and merging jobs

If you have the DocBuilder Pro option, you can use the Preview windows of 
Command WorkStation to preview, edit, and merge PostScript and PDF jobs that 
have been spooled and held. You can apply all of the features discussed in 

Chapter 4

 

to spooled/held jobs and processed/held jobs alike.

Previewing jobs

—You can select any PostScript or PDF job showing a spooled/held 

(light yellow) status, and open the job in a Preview window (see 

page 4-1

). 

When you preview a PostScript job, the Adobe Acrobat application automatically 
opens in the background, generating PDF thumbnails that let you preview the job and 
perform further edits, including merging. A message appears, prompting you to accept 
conversion of the file to PDF.
