Using PELV circuits guarantees protection against electric shock (protection
against direct and indirect contact) in compliance with IEC/DIN EN 60204-1
(electrical equipment on machines, general requirements).
Note
Improper handling can cause damage to the electronic modules.
S
Turn off the supply voltages before performing any assembly and installation
work.
S
Only turn on electric power supplies when the product is fully assembled and
all installation work is complete.
S
Electronics modules contain electrostatically sensitive devices. Therefore, do
not touch any components. Observe the handling specifications for electro-
statically sensitive devices.
Setting the PROFIsafe address
To allow communication via PROFIsafe, the correct PROFIsafe address must be set
on the cut-off module with a 10 position DIL switch with binary coding. PROFIsafe
addresses in the range 1 to 1023 are permissible. The DIL switch is located dir-
ectly on the electronics module and can be adjusted when the connection block is
dismantled. The following figure shows the DIL switch with addressing examples.
